The CinePearl Take

Rajesh Nair’s “18 Hours” delivers a lean, single‑track narrative that never lets up, thanks in large part to its unnamed lead’s gritty, under‑played performance that anchors the chaos. The pacing is deliberately relentless, turning each minute into a ticking clock that mirrors the protagonist’s desperation. While the script leans on familiar hostage tropes, the film’s atmospheric lighting and sound design elevate it into a visceral experience. The lack of big‑name cast works in its favor, allowing the story to feel more like a documentary slice of survival.
