The CinePearl Take
Nicola Rinciari’s direction is unflinching yet compassionate, allowing the story to breathe in long, observant takes. Jake Lacy delivers his most vulnerable performance yet, embodying a man haunted by war while slowly opening up to Nazanin Boniadi’s fierce, resilient immigrant protagonist. The pacing is deliberately measured, mirroring the characters’ gradual healing, and the recurring motif of a literal mosquito buzzing in the background becomes a subtle symbol of persistent irritation and the need to be heard.
