The CinePearl Take
Simón Mesa Soto crafts a hauntingly beautiful portrait of a struggling poet (played with raw vulnerability by an uncredited newcomer) whose verses become acts of rebellion. The film’s deliberate pacing mirrors the slow grind of censorship, while the recurring motif of rain underscores the cleansing power of language. Though the narrative is minimalist, the thematic resonance about the cost of speaking truth is strikingly potent.
