The CinePearl Take

Jean Dujardin delivers a masterclass in restrained intensity as Colonel Picquart, embodying a man torn between duty and conscience. Polanski opts for a deliberate, almost clinical pacing that lets the moral stakes simmer, while the cinematography captures the oppressive atmosphere of late‑19th‑century Paris. The film’s unflinching look at institutional anti‑Semitism makes its themes feel urgent, even today.
