Why Watch This
Bhishmar takes the legendary Mahabharata figure and drops him into a chaotic modern Indian suburb, delivering a fresh clash of ancient gravitas and everyday absurdity. The film’s razor‑sharp one‑liners and slap‑stick set‑pieces make it a laugh‑out‑loud ride for anyone who enjoys cultural mash‑ups.
Best For
Comedy lovers, Indian cinema fans, Mythology buffs, Family viewing, Light‑hearted mood
The CinePearl Take
Director East Coast Vijayan surprisingly balances reverence for the source material with a breezy, contemporary tone, keeping the story from feeling forced. The supporting turn by newcomer Riya Sharma as Bhishmar’s bewildered neighbor steals several scenes with her dead‑pan delivery. While the pacing occasionally stumbles in the second act, the film regains momentum with a series of escalating misunderstandings that culminate in a delightfully chaotic climax.
