Why Watch This
“Colours of Time” blends a classic police procedural with a speculative twist, following a Parisian detective who must chase a serial killer whose crimes are linked to a mysterious, color‑coded algorithm that predicts future murders. The film’s visual palette and moral dilemmas make it a fresh take on the genre.
Best For
Police drama fans, Futuristic thrillers, French cinema lovers, Social commentary seekers, Slow‑burn detectives
The CinePearl Take
Cédric Klapisch delivers a surprisingly tense narrative, anchored by a quietly magnetic performance from the lead detective (played by a newcomer whose intensity feels earned). The pacing is deliberate, allowing the film’s exploration of free will versus deterministic technology to breathe. While the plot occasionally stumbles under its own ambition, the thematic resonance about how we color‑code morality stays compelling until the final reveal.
