Director Shamir Moideen blends folklore with hard‑edged realism, giving the film a distinctive cultural texture that feels both intimate and politically charged.

The CinePearl Take

Moideen’s direction is unapologetically bold, letting the village’s oral storytelling traditions dictate the film’s rhythm. While the ensemble cast is largely unknown, the lead—played by a newcomer—delivers a haunting performance that anchors the narrative’s emotional core. The pacing occasionally drags during extended debates, but the thematic payoff—examining how ideology reshapes familial bonds—is both thought‑provoking and resonant.
