The CinePearl Take
Yamashita’s direction injects a pulse‑pounding rhythm into the mythic narrative, but the film never loses sight of its emotional core. The animation excels in its fluid fight sequences while still allowing quieter, character‑driven moments to breathe. Thematically, the movie explores the tension between destiny and self‑determination, a recurring motif in contemporary anime. Though the cast remains uncredited, the lead voice work captures the princess’s ethereal longing with surprising nuance.
