The CinePearl Take
Thomas Bornot’s direction keeps the tension taut, using claustrophobic framing to mirror Cyril’s trapped existence. The standout performance comes from the unknown lead, whose quiet intensity makes the final showdown feel earned. While the pacing drags in the middle, the thematic focus on class struggle and moral ambiguity sustains interest.
