The CinePearl Take
Michel La Veaux’s directorial hand is both reverent and restless, letting Deleau’s own footage dictate the film’s rhythm. The pacing spikes during the 1970s protest clips, then settles into reflective interviews that reveal the filmmaker’s philosophy of “cinema as protest.” While the lack of a traditional narrative can feel meandering, the thematic thread of artistic rebellion holds the viewer’s interest throughout.
