Why Watch This

Delicious mixes razor‑sharp comedy with a lovingly rendered look at the birth of modern French cuisine, turning a 19th‑century kitchen into a battlefield of ego, ambition, and absurdity. If you enjoy period pieces that serve up both laughs and a tasty slice of history, this film is a flavorful bite.

The CinePearl Take

Éric Besnard shows a deft hand at weaving together humor and period detail, but it’s the breakout performance by Camille Cottin as the head chef “Madame Boulanger” that anchors the chaos with magnetic charm. The film’s deliberate pacing lets the kitchen’s simmering tension rise naturally, while the recurring motif of taste versus tradition adds a surprisingly poignant undercurrent. Though some subplots feel undercooked, the overall dish is surprisingly satisfying.
