The film’s stark black‑and‑white cinematography and snappy dialogue capture the gritty spirit of 1940s crime noir.

The CinePearl Take

Tierney’s performance is the engine that drives “Dillington” forward—his raw intensity makes Dillinger feel both charismatic and terrifying. Nosseck keeps the narrative brisk, never lingering long enough for the story to feel sluggish, while the supporting cast (especially Elisha Cook Jr.) adds texture to the underworld tableau. Though the budget shows, the film’s unapologetic edge and period details give it a lingering, gritty charm that outshines many higher‑profile contemporaries.
