The CinePearl Take

Samuel Sunderland’s direction is deliberately unhurried, allowing the audience to sit with the characters’ grief without the safety net of melodrama. The unnamed lead—played with a raw, almost shy intensity—anchors the film’s exploration of generational trauma. Cinematographer Luis Arévalo frames the high‑altitude plains with a muted palette that mirrors the film’s theme of emotional isolation. While the pacing may test patience, the payoff is a lingering sense of empathy that stays with you long after the credits roll.
