The CinePearl Take
Wheeler’s minimalist approach—eschewing voice‑over in favor of ambient sound—lets the valley speak for itself, a bold choice that rewards patience. The film’s pacing mirrors the seasonal cycles it documents, allowing viewers to feel the slow grind of winter thaw and the sudden burst of spring growth. A standout moment is the quiet interview with an elderly shepherd, whose weather‑worn anecdotes anchor the ecological narrative with a deeply personal thread.
