Why Watch This

Robin Campillo’s “Enzo” offers a haunting portrait of a retired boxer grappling with fading memories and a city that’s moving on without him. The film’s unflinching look at aging, identity, and the invisible lives of the working class makes it a quietly powerful drama.

Best For

Drama lovers, Social‑issue fans, Slow‑burn enthusiasts, Character‑driven audiences, French cinema aficionados

The CinePearl Take

Campillo’s direction is as restrained as it is compassionate, allowing every lingering glance to speak louder than dialogue. The breakout performance by newcomer Luca Moretti as Enzo anchors the film; his bruised yet tender portrayal captures the paradox of strength and vulnerability. Pacing is deliberately measured, mirroring Enzo’s own slow descent into recollection, while the recurring motif of the old gym becomes a poignant metaphor for a world that refuses to forget.
