Why Watch This

Best For
Action fans, Boxing enthusiasts, Japanese cinema lovers, Miake fans, Underdog story lovers
The CinePearl Take
Miike’s direction never lets the momentum die; the opening montage of training drills sets a pulse that drives the entire film. The unnamed lead boxer—portrayed with a gritty, bruised charisma—anchors the narrative, making his emotional turmoil as compelling as his punches. While the romance feels almost melodramatic, it provides a surprisingly human counterpoint to the blood‑splattered ring, and the film’s brisk pacing ensures you’re never out of breath.
