The CinePearl Take
Matías Gueilburt’s direction balances brisk pacing with moments of quiet reflection, letting Vilas’s own voice guide the narrative. The archival match reels are expertly intercut with present‑day interviews, especially a moving conversation with Vilas’s son that adds personal depth. While the film occasionally drifts into dense statistics, its core theme—one man’s fight for recognition—remains compelling throughout.
