Why Watch This

Priyadarshan steps away from his familiar comedy territory with “Haiwaan”, a dark psychological crime thriller that pits Saif Ali Khan’s visually impaired martial artist against Akshay Kumar’s ruthless antagonist. Built around danger, survival and a tense battle of wits, the film promises a darker and more intense side of both its stars.

Best For

Crime thriller fans, Psychological thriller lovers, Akshay Kumar fans, Saif Ali Khan fans, Mystery enthusiasts, Action lovers

The CinePearl Take

Haiwaan stands out because it places two familiar Bollywood stars in unusually dark territory. Saif Ali Khan plays a visually impaired character who uses his martial-arts skills and heightened awareness to protect a young girl, while Akshay Kumar takes on an unapologetically sinister role. Priyadarshan focuses on suspense, psychological games and the contrast between vulnerability and calculated violence. The reunion of Akshay and Saif after 18 years adds another layer of intrigue, while the director’s decision to give the story a fresh treatment rather than simply reproduce the original makes this thriller worth watching.
