Why Watch This

Daniel Lieff’s “Here The Whole Time” offers an unflinching look at a Generation‑Z teen grappling with the lingering fallout of a global crisis while trying to define who she is beyond the digital echo chamber. Its lyrical cinematography and a soundtrack built from reclaimed mixtapes make the ordinary moments feel both nostalgic and urgent.

The CinePearl Take

Lead newcomer Maya Torres delivers a quietly magnetic performance, capturing the volatile mix of hope and dread that defines late‑teens today. Lieff’s deliberate, almost breath‑by‑breath pacing forces the audience to sit with the character’s internal monologue, turning everyday school corridors into metaphors for larger existential corridors. The film’s central theme—time as both a wound and a healer—resonates long after the credits roll, even if the narrative occasionally drifts into abstract reverie.
