The CinePearl Take
Lead newcomer Maya Redbird delivers a magnetic performance as Lila, a young activist whose quiet determination anchors the film’s emotional core. Clements’ deliberate pacing allows the audience to breathe with the tide, letting each scene unfold like a tide‑washed memory. The recurring motif of water underscores the fragile balance between tradition and progress, making the climax feel both inevitable and heartbreaking.
