Why Watch This

In the Fog offers a haunting, near‑wordless portrait of wartime moral ambiguity, immersing viewers in the bleak Belarusian forests where trust is a luxury. Its stark black‑and‑white cinematography and deliberate pacing make every glance and silence count.

Best For

History buffs, War film aficionados, Art‑house enthusiasts, Fans of slow‑burn drama, Moral‑dilemma seekers

The CinePearl Take

Loznitsa’s direction is a masterclass in restraint, letting the fog itself become a character that obscures truth as much as it reveals it. Boris Kamorzin delivers a quietly devastating performance, embodying a commander caught between survival and betrayal. The film’s unhurried rhythm may test impatient viewers, but it rewards those who appreciate texture over plot. Its exploration of collective guilt feels eerily relevant today.
