The CinePearl Take
Yann L'Hénoret stitches together runway footage, backstage chaos, and candid interviews into a rhythm that mirrors Gaultier’s own theatrical tempo. The film’s pacing lets the viewer savor iconic moments—like the iconic “Madonna cone bra” show—while also probing the designer’s philosophy of subverting norms. Though there are no traditional “performances,” the sheer presence of Gaultier’s creations feels like a living character.
