Why Watch This

Antoine de Maximy turns the Carpathian wilderness into a gritty crime scene, blending police procedural intrigue with the unsettling immediacy of found‑footage cinema. The film’s raw, handheld aesthetic pulls you into a chase that feels both documentary‑like and nightmarishly cinematic.

Best For

Crime fans, Found footage enthusiasts, Indie film lovers, Dark humor seekers, Adventure junkies

The CinePearl Take

De Maximy’s improvisational direction is both a strength and a flaw—while the shaky camera work injects visceral tension, the lack of a conventional script leads to occasional pacing lulls. The most compelling moments come from the locals who improvise as witnesses, adding an eerie authenticity that compensates for the absent star power. Themes of isolation and bureaucratic indifference echo through the mist‑shrouded peaks, making the film a haunting study of law enforcement out of its element.
