The CinePearl Take
Paulette delivers a quietly magnetic performance, anchoring the film's deliberate pacing. Poukine's use of long takes lets the audience linger in Kika's moments of doubt and hope, while the muted color palette underscores the story's melancholy. The exploration of environmental displacement feels both timely and deeply personal, though its slow‑burn rhythm may test viewers seeking more conventional plot twists.
