The CinePearl Take

Joreige and Hadjithomas craft a patient, almost tactile rhythm that mirrors the way memories surface—slow, fragmented, and emotionally resonant. Though the cast remains unnamed, the ensemble delivers understated performances that feel like real conversations caught on film. The film’s recurring motif of a literal “box” becomes a powerful visual metaphor for the weight we assign to the past, while the sparse score underscores the quiet tension between nostalgia and loss.
