Why Watch This
It offers an unfiltered, hour‑long sit‑down with Germany’s post‑punk legend Mona Mur, revealing the raw creative process behind her haunting soundscapes. Director Dietmar Post lets the conversation breathe, letting Mur’s stories and the occasional stray note become the film’s texture.
Best For
Music documentary fans, Post‑punk enthusiasts, German culture lovers, Art‑house viewers, Indie music historians
The CinePearl Take
Post’s camera work is deliberately static, forcing the viewer to sit with Mur’s cadence and the occasional pauses that speak louder than any narration. The pacing feels like a live rehearsal—slow, deliberate, and occasionally jolting—mirroring the artist’s own experimental ethos. Mur’s candid reflections on gender, politics, and the Berlin underground give the film a thematic depth that transcends a simple interview format.
