The CinePearl Take
Miki’s restrained direction lets the city itself become a character, its rain‑slick streets mirroring the protagonist’s inner turbulence. The unnamed stranger, portrayed with a subtle, almost wordless intensity, becomes a catalyst for the lead’s reluctant healing. While the pacing is deliberately languid, each lingering shot feels purposeful, building a quiet tension that culminates in a bittersweet climax. The film’s biggest triumph is its ability to make the mundane feel poetic, turning a chance meeting into a timeless meditation on connection.
