Why Watch This
It blends rural slap‑slap comedy with an oddly tender love story, turning a stubborn donkey into both a comic foil and a catalyst for romance. If you enjoy off‑beat humor that still lands a heartfelt punch, this film delivers a quirky charm you won’t find in mainstream rom‑coms.
Best For
Comedy lovers, Quirky romance fans, Animal lovers, Indie film enthusiasts, French cinema fans
The CinePearl Take
Caroline Vignal’s direction leans into a breezy, almost improvisational rhythm that lets the absurdity of a love‑triangle‑plus‑donkey unfold without feeling forced. The film’s lead—an emerging French talent—anchors the chaos with a dead‑pan delivery that makes even the donkey’s brays feel like punchlines. While the pacing occasionally stumbles in its third act, the underlying theme of finding connection in the most unlikely places remains both funny and oddly moving.
