The CinePearl Take
Steven Wouterlood’s direction leans into the sun‑drenched nostalgia of youth while keeping the narrative grounded in genuine emotion. The breakout performance by the actress playing Tess shines, delivering a mix of sarcasm and vulnerability that anchors the film’s heart. The pacing feels deliberately lazy—just like a real summer—yet never drags, allowing each quirky subplot to breathe. Ultimately, the film is a love letter to the messy, unforgettable moments that define the transition from teen to adult.
