The CinePearl Take
Shimotsu’s debut feature is anchored by a quietly magnetic performance from newcomer Aki Tanaka, whose portrayal of a disillusioned app developer feels both intimate and emblematic of a generation. The film’s deliberate pacing lets tension simmer, rewarding viewers who savor visual storytelling over plot‑driven fireworks. Themes of surveillance, collective memory, and the yearning for authentic connection resonate long after the credits roll.
