The CinePearl Take
Director Jonathan Keijser balances gentle humor with heartfelt drama, letting the family's love for chocolate become a metaphor for hope. Randa Kassis shines as the matriarch, delivering a quietly fierce performance that anchors the film. The pacing is deliberate, allowing each confection‑making scene to linger just long enough to feel both tactile and symbolic. Themes of resilience, community, and the sweet taste of second chances resonate long after the credits roll.
