The CinePearl Take
Vividly shot and unflinchingly honest, Playtime shines thanks to Brenda Viveiros’s resonant narration, which grounds the film’s sprawling observations in a personal voice. The pacing is deliberately measured, allowing moments of quiet observation to sit alongside bursts of kinetic energy when kids reclaim alleyways. Murat’s thematic focus on resilience and community makes the documentary feel both urgent and hopeful, while Luciana Bezerra and Leandra Miranda provide compelling on‑screen testimonies that anchor the broader social critique.
