The CinePearl Take
Avery’s direction is a masterclass in slap‑slap‑slap‑bang, with every gag landing faster than the last. Porky’s dead‑pan delivery provides the perfect foil to Daffy’s manic, “crazy‑as‑a‑loon” antics, establishing a dynamic that would power countless cartoons to come. The short’s brisk 7‑minute runtime never drags, making it a perfect bite‑size burst of vintage zaniness.
