Why Watch This
Bob Clampett’s zany slap‑slap humor lands a splashy punch in this 1940 animated short, where a hapless goldfish becomes the unwitting star of a chaotic kitchen caper. The cartoon’s rapid visual gags and off‑beat sound effects make it a perfect bite‑size laugh for vintage animation lovers.

The CinePearl Take
Clampett’s direction shines through the frantic pacing, turning a simple kitchen mishap into a whirlwind of visual absurdity. The fish’s exaggerated expressions, though voiceless, convey a surprisingly sympathetic underdog vibe. While the plot is thin, the relentless gag timing and inventive background designs keep the energy buoyant throughout the brief runtime.
