Why Watch This
Prakambanam blends Kerala’s eerie folklore with razor‑sharp slapstick, delivering a laugh‑out‑loud experience that never lets the tension fully subside. The film’s quirky set pieces—like a haunted toddy shop and a possessed auto rickshaw—make it a fresh entry in the horror‑comedy mix.
Best For
Malayalam cinema fans, Horror comedy lovers, Fans of regional humor, Late‑night binge watchers, Cult film seekers
The CinePearl Take
Director Vijesh Panathur keeps the rhythm brisk, letting jokes land before the scares creep in. Ganapathi S. Poduval steals the show with a delightfully over‑the‑top performance as the skeptical landlord who becomes the reluctant ghost‑hunter. While the script occasionally leans on familiar tropes, the film’s willingness to poke fun at superstition while honoring it adds a surprisingly thoughtful layer.
