Quasimodo (2026) reimagines Victor Hugo’s iconic bell‑ringer as a gritty, historically grounded figure caught in the turmoil of 15th‑century Paris, offering a visceral look at medieval power struggles and social exile. Director Jean‑François Richet blends sweeping cathedral vistas with intimate, claustrophobic set‑pieces, delivering a visual feast that feels both epic and personal.

The CinePearl Take
The film’s breakout lead delivers a hauntingly physical performance, embodying Quasimodo’s inner turmoil without ever needing a famous name on the marquee. Richet’s pacing is deliberate, allowing the city’s oppressive stone to become a character in its own right, while the narrative never shies away from the brutal realities of medieval justice. At its heart, the movie is a meditation on otherness and redemption, anchored by striking cinematography that captures both the grandeur and the grime of Paris.
