The CinePearl Take
Macri’s direction is both lyrical and unflinching, letting the bleakness of the mines amplify the protagonist’s inner resilience. The unnamed lead delivers a raw, magnetic performance that anchors the film’s emotional core. While the pacing can feel deliberate, it rewards patience with moments of striking visual poetry and a nuanced exploration of community, loss, and empowerment.
