The CinePearl Take
Jochen Hick’s patient pacing lets each story breathe, allowing viewers to feel the weight of displacement while celebrating moments of joy. The film’s strongest thread is the intergenerational dialogue between older refugees and younger activists, highlighting both pain and resilience. Though it eschews a conventional narrative, the collage of testimonies forms a compelling mosaic of queer survival.
