Why Watch This

Reawaken Man: The Red takes a simple supernatural idea and turns it into a fast-paced action thriller. Seok Hwan, an unemployed young man struggling to find his place in life, discovers that death is no longer permanent for him. Every resurrection makes him stronger, but it also places him in the sights of a mysterious and dangerous pursuer.

Best For

Best suited for viewers who enjoy Korean action thrillers, supernatural powers, comic-book adaptations and stories where an ordinary protagonist suddenly develops extraordinary abilities. Fans of resurrection powers, escalating fights, mysterious villains and fast-moving fantasy action should find plenty to enjoy.

The CinePearl Take

Reawaken Man: The Red has an appealing power progression at its centre: Seok Hwan does not simply return from death, he becomes stronger every time he does. His growing abilities put him on a collision course with Black, whose own supernatural power makes him a formidable opponent. The film combines this unusual premise with humour, friendship, family and increasingly intense action.
