The CinePearl Take
Civati’s direction is a masterclass in pacing; he lets each interview breathe while intercutting with crisp, restored clips that revive forgotten moments. The film’s standout segment is the candid conversation with veteran director Lina Wertmüller, whose reflections on gender and politics add a potent emotional core. Overall, the documentary feels less like a textbook and more like a love letter, inviting viewers to rediscover the magic of Italy’s silver screen.
