The CinePearl Take
Director Susanna Lira crafts a claustrophobic atmosphere that never lets the tension breathe, using Rio’s labyrinthine streets as a character in its own right. The breakout performance by newcomer Marina Silva as Rosa’s sister, Lúcia, anchors the emotional core, delivering a raw, unflinching portrayal of grief turned fury. While the pacing occasionally spikes into frantic bursts, the deliberate slow‑burn moments amplify the stakes, turning a simple rescue plot into a meditation on corruption and resilience.
