The CinePearl Take
Stamm’s direction is a masterclass in pacing, letting the town’s slow rhythm breathe while the narrative tightens around Lucia’s (Sofia Alvarez) quiet rebellion. Alvarez delivers a luminous, understated performance that anchors the film’s dreamy aesthetic. The recurring motif of candied sugar becomes a poignant symbol for both nostalgia and decay, making the film linger long after the credits roll.
