The CinePearl Take
Karan Johar’s ambitious blend of comedy, drama, and romance lands with mixed results—some scenes glide on the effortless charm of Shah Rukh and Kajol, while others feel weighed down by over‑produced musical numbers. Amitabh Bachchan delivers a surprisingly tender turn as the patriarch grappling with his own regrets, anchoring the film’s emotional core. The pacing wavers between glossy spectacle and introspective moments, but the film’s central theme—embracing both joy and sorrow—remains resonant.
