Why Watch This
Somewhere Else Together captures the quiet intimacy of two strangers who, amidst the COVID‑19 lockdown, decide to share a small coastal cottage and document their evolving friendship. The film’s handheld footage and candid interviews turn a simple experiment into a meditation on isolation, connection, and the ways we reinvent community when the world pauses.

The CinePearl Take
Director Daniel Rintz lets the moments breathe, allowing the natural rhythm of daily life to dictate the film’s pacing—a choice that feels both patient and purposeful. The unscripted conversations reveal raw vulnerability, especially when the pair confront their own preconceptions about solitude. Rintz’s subtle editing stitches together the mundane and the profound, making the ordinary feel cinematic. Ultimately, the documentary asks whether proximity is a necessity for connection or if shared intention can bridge any distance.
