Why Watch This
Splice blends slick biotech paranoia with unapologetic body horror, delivering a claustrophobic lab thriller that asks what it means to play God. Adrien Brody and Delphine Chanéac anchor the film with a strained partnership that spirals into obsession and terror.

The CinePearl Take
Natali’s direction keeps the tension tight, letting the unease build through sterile corridors before the creature’s grotesque reveal. Brody delivers a controlled, increasingly frantic performance that mirrors the moral decay of his character, while Chanéac’s understated dread makes the creature’s humanity feel tragically plausible. The film’s pacing slows just enough to let the ethical questions linger, turning a simple monster story into a meditation on creation and responsibility.
