Best For

The CinePearl Take

Olivia Colman delivers a career‑defining, Oscar‑winning turn as Queen Anne, perfectly balancing fragility and fury. Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone (as the titular “favourite”) trade venomous barbs with such precision that the film’s pacing feels like a chess match, each move deliberate yet startlingly unpredictable. Lanthimos’s signature deadpan framing and clipped dialogue amplify the absurdity of court politics, turning a biographical tale into a universal study of how intimacy can become a weapon.
