Why Watch This

It’s a heartfelt, true‑story tribute to the unsung heroism of a Vietnam‑era Air Force pararescueman, driven by Jeremy Irvine’s earnest performance as a tenacious Pentagon staffer fighting bureaucracy to secure a long‑overdue Medal of Honor.

Best For

War‑film enthusiasts, History buffs, True‑story lovers, Fans of ensemble casts, Military families

The CinePearl Take

The film balances solemn reverence with a procedural thriller’s momentum, largely thanks to Sam Jackson’s gritty senior advisor who anchors the campaign with gravitas. Irvine brings a quiet determination that makes the bureaucratic slog feel personal, while the veteran ensemble—especially William Hurt and Ed Harris—adds weight to the flashbacks. Though the pacing occasionally stalls in courtroom‑style exposition, the final ceremony delivers an emotionally resonant payoff that honors both the real hero and the story’s moral core.
