Why Watch This
“The People Upstairs” blends razor‑sharp social satire with a warm, character‑driven comedy about two couples whose lives collide in a cramped Barcelona flat. If you enjoy witty dialogue that exposes the absurdities of modern urban living, this film delivers laughs and a surprisingly tender look at generational clash.

The CinePearl Take
Javier Cámara anchors the chaos with a subtly weary performance that captures a man caught between nostalgia and present‑day irritation. The film’s pacing is brisk, never lingering long enough to feel contrived, yet it allows the quieter moments—like the awkward dinner scene—to breathe. Gay’s direction turns a simple apartment dispute into a broader commentary on privacy, entitlement, and the fragile balance of modern friendships.
