The CinePearl Take
Ahn’s direction balances brisk pacing with lingering emotional beats, allowing the central performance—anchored by a breakout lead whose nuanced vulnerability feels startlingly real—to shine. The screenplay’s sharp dialogue captures generational misunderstandings without sacrificing warmth. While the plot follows familiar territory, the film’s modern setting and cultural specificity give it a distinct, resonant voice.
