Why Watch This

The film’s blend of lyrical cinematography and unflinching interviews makes the invisible weight of trauma palpable.

The CinePearl Take
Li’s patient, observational pacing lets the landscape breathe, mirroring the subjects’ slow, deliberate coping rituals. The centerpiece interview with Maya, a local healer, is both a performance and a confession, grounding the film’s abstract metaphors in raw human experience. The recurring motif of the twin peaks—shot at sunrise and dusk—reinforces the cyclical nature of sorrow without ever feeling melodramatic.
